Sing Bandana Singh is a female fronted alt/rock band from Toronto, heavily influenced by grunge, punk + North Indian Classical music.
Sing Bandana Singh has performed with stages with bands like Noori, Autorickshaw, Arkells, The Elwins, Swaras, Kazak, Nawtiks, Vesper Hours, Azalea Ray, Samer Shahid Khan, Dead Shyre, Zameer, Lick Pennyloafer and Azalea Ray. Dark, brooding, feminine and aggressive – these are the words that Sing Bandana Singh use to describe their signature colour, violet, a tone that the band says thematically reflects and connects their songs on the first EP. On stage, the band’s “violet” description feels true to their sound, lyrics and presence.
Sing Bandana Singh’s first self-titled EP, (produced by Vikas Kohli at FatLabs) was released March 2011 and is available on iTunes.
SBS’s triptych of releases Strength, Beauty, Shimmer is currently in production. The first version of the EP Strength is available on Strength EP.
